Approach & access

From the parking take the gently rising path westwards towards the base of the pillar. As you get underneath the pillar it gets a bit more scrabley to reach the base of the pillar itself. The descent off the back of the pillar to Linares is a bit of a slog and best looking at a map to work out where you're going, but broadly: walk steeply uphill in a north-easterly direction for ~45 minutes (if you go too easterly and hit a steep drop go more northerly). You will hit a cow track which contours roughly round the mountain, follow this more easily until an open valley points the way down towards Linares. Follow the valley down trying to avoid as much gorse as possible.
