Achagavel

Several boulders accessed via the track down to Achagavel house. The closest a number of granodiorite erratics with a striking large block in the centre of the bowl. Past the house is the psammite Far Bloc worth the standout line of the area 16. Cryptic Crossing. Other highlights include the shirt and sweet 13. Spancelot on the Warm up bloc and 1. Side Peas on the Big bloc. The striking line of the 9. Arete project remains to be climbed. There is scope for a few harder lines on the Big boulder and fair bit of development down around the Far bloc on some smaller boulders and a outcrop wall. The upper boulder also has a very steep overhanging face that may have a hard sit start project.

Approach & access

Park considerately in a layby near the top of the drive. For the upper bloc cut across the fields directly from the road crossing a small burn. For the others follow the track and cut off through the field for the big bloc or continue considerately past the house for the Far bloc
